Frequently Asked Questions

We believe informed travellers make better experiences. Below you’ll find answers to common questions about sailing with Mandrake, including our eco-tourism approach, daily life onboard, and what to expect during your Whitsundays adventure.

🌿 Our Eco Commitment

Mandrake is built on the belief that the best way to explore the Whitsundays is slowly, respectfully, and with intention.

We operate small-group sailing experiences to reduce pressure on fragile reef and island environments, using sail power wherever possible and adjusting routes daily to protect sensitive areas. Our crew are trained through the Eye on the Reefprogram, allowing guests to take part in guided reef observation activities that contribute to real conservation data for the Great Barrier Reef.

Eco-tourism on Mandrake isn’t about ticking boxes — it’s about creating meaningful experiences that deepen understanding, inspire care, and leave the reef better protected for the future.
